Biodiversity Workshop

Today  a team of experts on Biodiversity from SECAD Midleton spent the day in the school grounds doing biodiversity lessons with all classes. They identified the most common birds in the school grounds as the chaffinch, dunnock, great tit, chiff chaff, robin and the wren. The most common trees in our immediate area are the ash, birch, elder, elm, hawthorn and lime. William O’Halloran and his team gave lots of information on identifying birds by their song and using the chirp app. Hopefully they will return next year for follow up lessons as we enter year 2 of our biodiversity flag application.
