Scoil Barra Naofa, founded on 19th February 1872 is a Catholic Primary School of both boys and girls. The mission of the school is to provide a comprehensive, inclusive and accessible education of the highest quality, which will enable all our pupils to develop to their full potential as persons – spiritually, socially, morally, physically and academically.

Scoil Barra Naofa is attractively situated overlooking Cork Harbour and set in beautifully landscaped gardens. It is a split level building incorporating the original three classroom building completed in 1943 and the new extension built in 1986. It comprises eight well equipped classrooms, each with interactive whiteboards, boys and girls toilets within each room, three Special Education Rooms, toilet for disabled users, a multi-functional hall, kitchen, reception area, Secretary’s office, Principal’s office, a recently redecorated Library and Staff Room.
We also have a Computer Room with sixteen desk top computers, six laptops and an interactive whiteboard. We have a portable iPad trolley, which holds 16 iPads! Scoil Barra Naofa has three yards, two marked for playground games and one Basketball Court. The yards were originally decorated by then parents, Ms. Fiona Tortise and Mrs. Shalette Bester. The yard walls were recently re-painted by parents Hazel O’ Keeffe and Terry Fitzgerald. The school also has access to the local park and Golf Club for sports events throughout the year.
