Active Week

This week was Active Week and we got off to a great start on Monday morning with games and dance in the yards and classroom before the start of school. We then had Irish Dancing with Niamhmarie for the Junior classes in the halla. Wellie throwing took place during lunch times and some classes also had extra games in the hall and yard. Tuesday again began with morning exercises followed by Basketball with Michael Marshall and Gymnastics with Colm. Sixth Class did a walking tour of the north side of Cork city. Tuesday night was the annual Parents’ Association Sports Night. On Wednesday we began the day with WOW and the Senior Classes had tag rugby with Eugene. On Thursday the older children headed off to the park for a Tug of War organised by Mr. Murphy. The week finished on Friday with Sport for all Day. Junior and Senior Infants did some obstacle courses organised by the Parents’ Association. Thank you to all those who gave so generously of their time and to Kathryn Jones for organising the event. The Senior Classes headed off to the Golf club and the Junior Classes used the yards and the halla for lots of fun and games including egg and spoon races, sack races, wheelbarrow races and three legged races. We were blessed again this year with glorious sunshine and a great time was had by all. Míle buíochas to all the teachers for organising the activities and making the week so much fun. Keep active, keep healthy!
