We had an extended Friendship Week this year in Scoil Barra Naofa due to our unexpected snow days. It ran from February 26th to 9th March. All classes throughout the school incorporated the theme of Frienship into various subjects including Art, Creative Writing, Poetry, Stories, RE, SPHE and Drama. Pupils were invited to take part in a secret buddy system. Each pupil had to take extra special care of their secret buddy throughout this time and the names were revealed on the last day. We also took extra time to reflect on the yard and playtime to encourage pupils to look out for one another and make sure everyone is included in games. We had a competition on the theme of Friendship from First Class all the way up to Sixth Class. The winners were announced at the assembly today and each winner was awarded a Homework Pass. The winners were:
First Class : Declan Earle and Beth Barry
Second Class : Freya Boylan and Mark Barry T
Third Class : John Hegarty, Tia Delan and Darragh Killeen
Fourth Class : Lauren Coughlan and Steve Lyons
Fifth Class : Lena Garcia and Sam McDonnell
Sixth Class : Lucy McCarthy and Adam O’ Flynn
Well done to everyone who took part in our competition. Remember to be kind to your friends. Always treat them with respect. You need to be a friend to have a friend.
