R.A.K. Day

Friendship Week

This was a special week in Scoil Barra Naofa, where we celebrated Friendship Week and focused on positive relationships, being kind and caring, looking out for each other and ensuring everyone was included. During the week a variety of activities took place in all classes including a R.A.K. day, a ‘Sticks and Stones’ drama workshop in Sixth, an Internet Safety talk given by Susan O’ Flynn (Mum of Ben and Liam) and a whole school assembly on Friday hosted by Fourth Class. We are very grateful to Susan for giving of her time so generously again this year. The teachers organised different competitions in all the classes and we congratulate the winners : Oran Power (Jun. Infs.) for the Hand of Friendship, Romy Barry (Sen. Infs.) for ‘My Friends’, Cian Barry (First Class) for Friends are ….., Phoebe Kelleher (Second Class) for her poster ‘Friends Forever’ on our Friendship Bench, Maya Coughlan for her Friendship quote ‘ The only way to have friends is to be one’, Lucy Bateman (Fourth Class) for her Friendship verse, Lauren Bradley (Fifth Class) for her Friendship poem and Iarlaith Crewe and Josh O’ Dwyer for their Friendship play. Well done to all! We hope the spirit of friendship nurtured during the week will continue and grow throughout the coming year.
