Grandparent’s Day 2020

Today 4th class hosted Grandparent’s Day 2020. All the Grandparents of 4th Class were invited to Scoil Barra Naofa to celebrate the special relationship between Grandparents and their grandchildren.  Fr. Seán led a short prayer service for all in attendance. This was followed by a performance by 4th Class which included songs, poems and a tin whistle tune , especially prepared for all the Grannies and Grandads. The children showed their guests their “Grandparents”  projects, which were displayed in the halla for all to enjoy. The children took their grandparents on a tour of the school. They visited the 4th class room and read the “Grandparents Adjective Poems” and character descriptions written about all their Grannies and Grandads. The  pictures of their Grandparents, drawn by 4th class, were also on display. They visited the computer room , the library and were taken on a tour of the school garden.  Each child made a “Bird Cage Book” as a gift for their Grandparents. All of this excitement was finished off with a cup of tea and some delicious home baking, provided by 4th class. A huge thank you to the parents who organised the halla transformation from prayer/performance space to tea room! Also thank you, most sincerely, to those same parents who provided the much appreciated cup of tea to all the Grandparents. It was a wonderfully memorable day for all!
