Green Flag Ceremony

We had a great day today in Scoil Barra Naofa raising our fourth green flag for travel. We were thrilled to have Alan Cadogan, with us to do the honours. Alan is a senior hurler on the Cork team and we so appreciate him taking the time out to be with us. Speeches were made by Chairperson, Zach Dinan, Secretary, Emily O’ Flynn and senior members of the Green Committee, Maria Viehmann, Billy Quirk, Aoibhinn Fitzgerald and Áine Power. Our thanks go to all the committee members, Ms. Dwyer, Martin Prout, Aoife McCarthy and WOW helpers, Gary James and Tina Geraghty. We are so grateful to everyone for supporting all the initiatives during our time working towards the travel flag. Our major achievement was the ‘Park ‘n’ Stride School of the Year award, of which we are so proud. After the flag raising ceremony some classes celebrated by heading off for a walk and returning to some goodies generously provided by our Parents’ Association. The committee celebrated by tucking into a beautiful cake baked by Kathryn Jones and decorated especially to mark this very special occasion. Well done to everyone for a terrific effort! Maith sibh, go léir!
