On Thursday 31st May we welcomed Cllr. Marcia D’Alton to the school for our Green Flag Raising Ceremony. Everyone was dressed in green or as living creatures to mark the occasion! Junior Infants opened the ceremony with a fantastic performance that really captured our excitement. Ryan Nolan and Nicole Dinan from the green School Committee and Cllr. D’Alton spoke about the environment and biodiversity. Afterwards the whole school community went outside to see the 5th Green Flag being raised by our special guest Cllr. D’Alton. Each class got a homework pass as part of the celebrations that went on across the rest of the day! Well done to everyone involved in this great achievement, especially the pupils and parents of the school Green Committee. Scoil Barra Naofa’s achievement was featured in the local Carrigdhoun Newspaper. Siobhan Russell from the Carrigdhoun came to the school and she captured some lovely shots on the day. These great photos are in the latest issue of The Carrigdhoun!
