On Thursday Sadhbh and Rose visited Junior and Senior Infants and spoke to the children about the importance of proper handwashing. They took swabs from the children’s hands and used a special apparatus to measure the amount of bacteria present before and after handwashing. The children loved playing the role of the ‘scientist’ and were amazed at the results of the swab tests! The children were shown the correct way to wash their hands and told that it takes 30 seconds to wash them thoroughly. Sadhbh and Rose were very impressed with the children’s answering and gave them all a gift of a ruler!
