It’s Okay not to be Okay Week

It’s Okay to not Be Okay week was a resounding success and was enjoyed by all of the pupils in Fifth and Sixth class. The week had many exciting and interesting activities including art, drama, music and writing. Friday was the final day and the children took part in a touching and moving ceremony in the church. Many thanks to Fr. Seán for his beautiful, heartfelt words and encouragement to the children. He made the ceremony very special for them. Our message in a bottle and flowers of remembrance ceremony at the pier was also very moving. Our walk around Monkstown (to link with the darkness into light walk) was enjoyed by all in glorious sunshine. Thanks also to Jean Kelleher and her daughter Jill who kindly popped into school on Thursday to do a very enjoyable workshop on feelings with the children. Finally, special thanks must go to Eileen Cunningham who was the inspiration behind the week and prompted us to undertake this new and exciting venture. On behalf of all of the children who  benefitted from the week thank you for your ideas, help and support.
