SEACHTAIN NA GAEILGE

Beidh Seachatin (nó Coicís i ndáiríre!) na Gaeilge á chéiliúradh againn i SBN an mí
seo chugainn. (Márta 7ú – Márta 17ú) Bí linn ag iarraidh do chuid Ghaeilge a úsáid
gach lá. Ní líofacht atá ar siúl againn ach iarracht!! Is fíor an seanfhocal “Is fearr Gaeilge
briste ná Béarla cliste!!” Seachtain na Gaeilge (or fortnight of Irish technically) is
happening in SBN next month (March 7th to 17th). We hope you will join us in trying to
use your Irish everyday. We will be emailing a copy of the booklet “Déan comhrá-cúpla Focal for parents and guardians” to help support efforts to speak as Gaeilge at home.We are not expecting fluency – just effort! As the Irish saying goes – “Broken Irish is better than clever English” – i.e. the effort to speak our native
tongue is important!

A number of whole school activities have been organised by Ms Ni Bheara, with the help of Ms Kelly and the Student Council. Every class will also be organising different  activities to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge. Our celebrations will culminate in a Lá Glas, Green Day, on March 16th. Children are invited to dress in green, white and gold on the 16th. The traditional Infant Parade will also take place on this day.

Bainigí go léir taitneamh as an deireadh seachtain speisialta ag céiliúradh ár gcúltúr
agus Naomh Pádraig! Beidh an scoil dúnta go luath ar an gCéadaoin an 16ú agus
beidh an scoil dúnta ar an 17ú, 18ú agus 21ú lá de mí Márta. We hope you all enjoy the
long weekend celebrating our culture and honouring St. Patrick. A reminder that SBN
will close early on Wednesday March 16th times above) and will remain closed on 17th
and 18th and 21st of March.
