Our new Student Council has been busily working behind the scenes since the beginning of the year and has a very exciting event coming up. On Friday 28th October they will be holding a Trick or Treat for Temple Street. On that day each child can come into school dressed in a Hallowe’en costume. There will be prizes for the most original costumes – so be creative!! We would appreciate it if each child brought in a small donation for what we hope you agree is a very worthy cause. They will also be holding a Team Hope Shoebox Appeal in the school. The shoebox needs to be returned by Friday, November 11th. These boxes are sent to children in the developing world and in war torn areas and may be the only treat that they will get all year. Some of the items requested are pencils, a copy book, face cloth and a tooth brush, a small toy or game. The boxes cannot contain any liquids or gels. All details are provided on the information leaflet. Please read this before filling the box. We are aware that people are under enormous financial pressure and do not wish to add another item to your long list of expenses. However if you wish to get involved please get your child to ask their class teacher for the leaflet. A number of children could decide to join forces and send a box between them. Again we would stress that this is a completely voluntary activity and if you are unable to contribute on this occasion – it is completely understandable. Finally the deadline to return boxes is Friday, November 11th. No box sent after this date can be accepted.
