Green Schools

Our school is proud to be part of the Green-Schools programme, an international initiative to make our school and community more environmentally friendly. Guided by our student-led Green Schools Committee, we are actively working to improve our impact on the environment through long-term action.

Our work focuses on key areas like:

  • Waste and Litter: Implementing better recycling and waste reduction methods.
  • Energy: Reducing our energy consumption through simple changes like turning off lights and keeping doors closed.
  • Water: Monitoring and reducing our water usage.
  • Sustainable Transport: Encouraging walking, cycling and carpooling to school.
  • Biodiversity: Enhancing our school grounds to support local wildlife.

Our commitment has been recognized with the prestigious Green Flag award on seven occasions, and we work to maintain and renew this award by continuously improving our environmental practices.

  • Marine Flag: We are presently working on our application for the Marine Flag.
  • Long-Term Commitment: It’s a long-term programme, not a one-off project, and the flag is renewed every two years to three years.
